THE THREE APES

Where do we go and what do we see and recognize when strolling around some unknown places of life just not being connected by the wide boulevards standing in our detailed maps.

The distinctive planning can not be realized because the found path and situation will immediately draw another picture and dreaming of reality. Time to listen to the many unheard voices hiding in the fringed relicts of the green.

LEVELLING SURREAL PERSPECTIVES

Approaching colourful inner worlds

Each night dreaming opens multiple gates to a more surreal world.  So what is really real?  For sure,  I do not know exactly but the regularly chaotic cosmic coincidence generator always accompanies and predominates an approach through the imminent walls of cognition.

You go to place for the first time in your life, then all of a sudden the scenery seems so completely familiar, déja vu after very long time in a hidden homeland. Doubt tells quickly that this can not be real, although the basical feeling differs gravely and reassures that this must be true.

Moving into the chaotic space/time

If you make 100 photos of a mountain each photo will look different depending on light, angle of view or season. The real mountain never gets definitely visible,  because even a serial view represents just a small glimpse on the surrounding and more confusing cosmos so we never can be really sure.

Human beings have attempted to design clarifying pictures of this strange ambition for long time in writing or by the arts, that does not lead necessarily to rational or illuminating explanations as the world is not limited to the ordinary reality of our daily-routine.

First step to an imaginary multi-cosmos

These subrealities may be met everywhere when dreamy greediness simply becomes part of life, a strange world without clear fixed rules when accessing a phantastic but also rural space.

Modern science offers the fascinating idea of a multi-cosmos with different laws of nature in each cosmos, a rather amazing, incredible and irritating outlook.

This unusual piece of art aroused my special attention last year as part of a complete retrospective about Anita Rée at Hamburger Kunsthalle. It does look quite familiar to me.

GREEN AUTUMN THOUGHTS

Various rays go out from the sun, and some of them when they strike an object cause light to scatter in its diverse colors and heat to be felt. So the whole vegetable world may be considered as a vast mill receiving its motorpower from the sun. But in November this special power regularly dissolves here in the Northern hemisphere, the days get rapidly shorter, and with the leaves falling down from the trees and plants retreating again to the deep undergrounds the color green simply disappears mostly in nature.

Green means for us a very particular color while we are living on a stone planet where plants emerged on the vast countrysides only 200 million years ago. So green was the first brilliant color sucessfully appearing on our planet Earth, before all was just looking more dark-greyish-brown like today in the very high mountains. Red appeared in fact much later in nature, so green sticks deep in our mind and genomic memories as a symbol of primordial life.

And plants took finally over all parts of the planet, even severe conditions not preventing their distribution like this alien looking cactus in the photo above. So for the first animals it was of great advantage to discover the plants more easily on the soil and subsequently learned to recognize the color green. At some remote period the red color became a part of nature, and a lot of animals also learned to observe this. But there are still some primates where just females can realize red and green, but the males only green.

So the green color represents an essential and original matter of our evolutionary being. Good to be not a cat in this regard which can only distinguish black and white because more is not required during an endless night.

ACROSS THE EDGES OF OUR SENSES

What we see, comprises just a product of our mind and brain. So may be all this is just a simple optical illusion as human beings can not decode and observe for instance the ultraviolet or infrared light like some animals; in such case the world would suddenly look completely different. Bees can not recognize red colors of blossoming flowers, as their reality and color cosmos is being situated more in the ultraviolet range of light. Flies can realize 200 pictures per second (human brains only around 20), so just in case of a flie watching TV it will not see the film, but in slow motion all the single pictures of the film like in a dia-show. So what is really real?
