In January we visited this cool place being directly situated at the German-Polish border in the meadows of the river Neisse and being called ‘Kulturinsel Einsiedel’. There you will find the 1st treehouse hotel of Germany and also small summer huts, but on this premise the people also construct and build treehouses for worldwide export.
During our visit we were the only guests in the treehouse hotel while it was quite cold in the night and as well in the early morning around – 10° Celsius. Fortunately there was electrical heating in the treehouse otherwise it would have been not so nice. In summer it will be definitely more crowdy there as an overnight stay in a treehouse means just great fun and adventure especially for children.
For going to the toilet this icy bridge had to be crossed, then downstairs again to normal level and another 150 m walk through the frosty forest, so we refrained from using these facilities during the night. However, we really appreciated our short visit in the woods, the sleep in the treetops and the profound experience of winter in a real borderland.
